Hallie 1-6 Months

People always say that after your first kid, some things kinda fall downhill as in you don't wig out about germs as heavily or scrap booking for the kids after the first don't get done like you had the motivation for the first kid. Well that is how blogging has been. With Ashton, his first year of life, every month I did a blog post about him and what he likes/dislikes and milestones and stuff like that. I'm afraid to say I haven't done that once for Hallie and she is almost 7 months old. Also, life with two kids is obviously even busier than it was having just one kid, so I'm not guaranteeing I will do it every month now, but I will try harder. Just so that I can look back and remember things about Hallie that I might not remember about her as a baby years from now.

ABOUT HALLIE (0-6 months):

Hallie is a really good baby. She is a pretty good sleeper, not a sleep through the night baby, but when she wakes up at night, it's only for 10-15 minutes to eat and goes straight to sleep again so I can tolerate it. When she was first born for at least the first month, she would sleep like all afternoon and everyday, I would be like oh crap she slept all day long, now she won't sleep at night, but she always did haha it was pretty nice. She still mostly falls asleep nursing. She did do pretty well at just going to sleep in her crib until she became mobile. She is a strange eater in that she only eats for a total of 5-10 minutes at a time, every 2-3 hours. Which is weird because she is such a chubby baby. Ashton at for like 30 minutes at least at a time every 2-3 hours haha so it's funny that she is so chunky because she doesn't eat like Ashton did and she is heavier than he was at her ages the first 6 months of his life. Her hair is coming in and it's so poofy, but we still can't tell for sure what color it is. Sometimes when we look it looks red, sometimes it looks brown, sometimes it looks ashy/dirty blonde haha time will tell.

She started eating solids around 4 months though and she does ok, but I wish it was better. I kind of blame myself though, because I have a hard time sitting down and getting her to eat solids. Not as patient and committed as I was with Ashton. She got sick only a couple weeks after starting solids though and had to take antibiotics so I feel like giving her that medicine twice a day for a week and a half, helped her learn to swallow what is fed to her instead of it dribbling out of her mouth, so there has been improvement since then.

The little chunk started wearing 0-3 and 3 month clothes at just 3 weeks old and then by the time she turned 3 months old, she was ready for 3-6 and 6 month clothes haha now she is 6 months old and must be slimming out a little (even though she still has some delicious chunky rolls) due to crawling because she can still fit into her 6 month jammies although, but they are starting to get a little snug. She has zoomed through the diaper sizes and just started wearing size 4 diapers. Yikes! Her 18 month cousin Brooklyn and 2 year old cousin Stockton both wear size 4 haha so kinda ridiculous, but she is the most perfect chunk there ever was and I love her just the way she is!

MILESTONES:

She rolled over for her first time just a day or two after she turned 3 months old and got more consistent with it from there. She started sitting up the week she turned 5 months old and from 5 months to 6 months, for that 4 weeks, she started to learn to go from sitting and leaning over onto her hands into a crawling stance and would rock back and forth. Then she figured out that her legs could move, but just couldn't figure out her arms. So one day, the weekend before she turned 6 months old, I showed her she could move her arms by picking up and moving her arms to show her how to crawl and then BOOM! that very next day, she started crawling. And is an absolute pro at it now. She goes everywhere. And now at 6.5 months old, she has started pulling herself up holding onto furniture now. At this rate, she's gonna start walking at like 9 months haha... but we will see. Also, still no teeth yet.

LIKES:
-snuggling and sleeping with mom
-watching Ashton... he makes her laugh more than anyone else
-laying on her side and is now starting to love sleeping on her belly
-driving in the car, and does really well in her carseat
-being outside
-smoothies and potatoes
-tub time
-water out of her sippy

DISLIKES:
-when people take her away from her mom... that stranger danger and clinginess to mom is kicking in
-Ashton taking toys away from her
-laying down to change her clothes or diaper

That's all I can think of right now, but this is just a little bit about my girl. She's such a sweetie!
