Steppin' Out Fahrfrumwurken

Lake Powell is my haven. The name of our houseboat is Fahrfrumwurken (far from working) and our boat is Steppin' Out. These names are so perfect because it is exactly what we are doing when we head to Powell. We are stepping out of life and going far from working. I have always loved Lake Powell and the activities we do here. Not to brag or be cocky, but the Boyce's are the people to go to Powell with. We do it right!

Due to being pregnant last summer and living in Vegas doing summer sales, we didn't get to go to Powell so we have been pretty excited to get back out on the water this year. Half of the Powell crew went down either Wednesday or Thursday, but Chase, Ash, Jordan, and I headed down on Friday after Chase got off work. We cruised and got to Powell pretty quick that night just in time for the prettiest and nicest time of night. We hung out for a little bit, and when it got dark, we fixed our bed up on top of the houseboat, put Ash to bed, and soon joined him after that.

Saturday, we got up early and played hard! Some of us had a morning wakeboarding run on my cousin, Brett's boat, then came back for some breakfast. Right after breakfast we headed back out on the boat. Chase wakeboarded a couple of times and I airchaired.

After everyone had their turn wakeboarding and airchairing, we headed back to the houseboat to have some lunch, have an afternoon nap, and play cards during the miserable hot time of day.

Later that afternoon, after we were all rejuvenated, we all piled on my "uncle" Curt's boat and did some double wakeskating and surfing, and we took Ashton for a little swim.

Before it was too late, we had to end our trip with a few rounds of tubing. It was starting to get that nice time of night when it wasn't so hot and the sun was starting to be (near) setting. My dad is a frightening driver when it comes to tubing, and I'm turning into a wuss as I get older. But I manned up a little and went for a wild ride. I get butterflies from being so nervous beforehand, but I'm always way glad I went. Ashton even went for a (wakeless) tube ride and he loved it! Before heading back for dinner, we ended with a quick "poo," as my family calls it- but really shampoo. We whipped out the boat shower with the warm water and figured we better give Ashton a little shower too. He wasn't too happy about it. Once we all got out of our wet swimsuits into some comfy clothes and put Ashton to bed, we ended our night with some dinner, watched Hook, then headed to bed.

On Sunday, we had breakfast, cleaned up, and headed home. It was the best trip, but it was too short. We are already itching to go back. Ashton loved Powell and was so good about letting everyone hold him and wearing the life jacket and everything! I love this blessed land body of water! It's so nice when we can be "Fahrfrumwurken" and "Steppin' Out" from life!
