Seven Months

Ashton is the happiest little boy! I love being his mom so much! He gets more fun every single day. His excitement for life is just so amazing, and I just love watching him learn new things everyday! Life is so good with him!

Size: I'm still forcing him into his 6 month old clothes, but they are starting to get a little snug. He wears either 6-9 month or 9 month clothes now. His diaper size is still a 3.

Features: His hair is growing really well now! That strawberry blonde fuzz is starting to get longer and cover most of his head, but the back of his head is still fuzz. He still has those big, blue eyes and those pure white rolls on his body.

Sleeping: I am starting to teach Ashton to go to sleep by himself. Up to this point I've always nursed him or held him as he falls asleep. I have done some research and found that because I do this, he can't soothe himself to sleep so when he wakes up during the night, he can't just fall asleep again without me. Well the other night, when he woke up every 2 hours, I had had enough. So even though he cries himself to sleep a little bit, I am starting to teach him that he doesn't need me in order to fall asleep by laying him in bed, giving him his binky, and turning on soft instrumental music. He cries for a song or two and then always turns his head to the right and falls asleep. So far, so good. He still goes to bed around 7 or 7:30 and wakes up for the day usually around 7 the next morning (with waking up 3 times a night. Any tips on how to get him to sleep through the night?). His nap schedule is getting a little better. He takes 3 30 minute naps a day, longer than 30 minutes if I'm lucky.

Dislikes:
-When I put him in his high chair, but he's getting better
-Taking naps longer than 30-45 minutes
-When I get in the shower, leaving him on the floor with toys
-Getting dressed after I let him play naked for a while
-The noise of the vacuum and bath faucet unless I'm holding him

Likes:
-Napping in the car
-Standing up
-Being tickled
-Kisses from mom
-Walks
-Playing with dad
-Popcorn Popping
-Holding my hand in the car
-Playing ball

New Skills/Tricks:
-Is starting to say mama. It kind of just sounds like momomomom over and over again
-Rolls over from his belly to his back, but won't go from back to belly
-Can pull his knees up in crawling position when he's on his belly
-Is now sleeping in his own room in his crib
-Bouncing like crazy
-Is now eating fruit, rice cereal/oatmeal, veggies, meat, some dairy, peanut butter, and juice like a champ. Seriously, the best eater in the world
-Fake coughing
