Ashton's Half Birthday

Ashton's half birthday was Valentine's Day! I can't believe how big and old he is getting. In just another short 6 months he will be a big 1 year old. That blows my mind when I think about that. He is definitely full of character! He is very particular and knows exactly what he wants, and gets upset when he doesn't get it (just like his daddy haha)! But he is so funny and so much fun! We love him a lot!

Size: 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

Hair: That strawberry blonde hair is starting to grow more and more. Some pieces of hair are like an inch long. 

Eyes: Still a deep, beautiful blue.

Sleeping: He goes to bed quite well at night. As he gets older, he wants to go to bed earlier. Last month it he was in bed by 8 or 8:30 Now, I notice him getting cranky and tired around 7 or 7:30. So the past week or so I've been putting him to bed around 7:30, and he sleeps for about 11-12 hours at night. He does wake up a 2-3 times a night, but he just wakes up for like 15 minutes to eat and then goes right back to sleep. Naps, on the other hand, are not so great. He takes 3-4 30 minute naps a day. I saw something online that a baby his age should be napping for 3-5 hours a day, and he only naps for 1-2 hours a day. I'd rather take a baby who is a better sleeper at night, so I won't complain too much about the lack in good naps.

Dislikes:

-Hanging out in his high chair unless I'm feeding him

-When I leave the room

-Tummy time and rolling over. I will try to make him roll over from his back to his belly, and he puts his leg in the way so he won't go on his belly

-When I lay him down with some toys so I can get in the shower

-Sitting still

Likes:

-Any food I give him. Even those yucky green veggies

-Naps only in my bed

-Nursing or taking a binky when he's tired

-Bath time, but only in his baby bath. Everywhere else, he screams

-Growling and blowing bubbles/spitting all over the place

-Sitting and standing up

-Playing with anyone's phone and chapstick. They're his favorite toys lately

-When I sing to him or dance for him

-Getting his face, neck and head tickled as he falls asleep

-Car rides. Best and easiest way to get him to take a good nap
-Getting tickled

-Walks/stroller rides

New Tricks/Skills:

-Is starting to clap his hands

-Reaches for me when he wants to be held
-Can go from sitting on his bum to standing up if he is holding onto my arm. He's a strong, determined little boy
-Scoots on his back and can somehow kind of get around without rolling
-Is starting to sprout his first tooth
