5 Months

Ashton is 5 months old and time is flying! I swear I just turned around and he went from 4 months to 5 months. The holidays helped make time go by so quickly. As each month has come, I always think that particular month was my favorite age so far, and now I'm thinking it again. I love 5 month old Ashton! He's learning and growing so much! Here's a little about our big 5 month old.

Size: Six month clothes and still size 2 diapers. He is now a big 17 pounds so he can start wearing size 3 diapers any time now. I just can't seem pull the trigger yet.

Hair: He looks bald in pictures, but he definitely has some strawberry blonde hair/fuzz.

Eyes: Big and blue. Sometimes they look like a dark blue and other times they look more sky blue. Either way, they're so awesome!

Sleeping: Over the past couple of months I've had a hard time putting Ashton to bed. I would lay him in his bed and he would wake up and wine until I picked him up. That changed a couple of weeks ago. We went and stayed in St. George and I just made a little bed for him on the ground. To get him to sleep, instead of rocking him to sleep and very carefully laying him down, I would just lay him down and lay next to him until he fell asleep himself. Now, I can just lay him down and he falls asleep on his own. It's amazing! Naps are still kind of touchy, but he is slowly getting better at napping without me holding him. He is still sleeping in our room in the pack n play. I can't seem to pull the trigger and lay him to bed in his own room in his crib. I'm thinking it will happen when the weather warms up (because his room is the coldest in the house). Now he's in bed by 9pm at the latest, wakes up once a night, and sleeps until 10am. Two thumbs up for his sleeping schedule!

Dislikes:
-Fluoride medicine
-Getting the boogers sucked out
-Laying down. The second I lay him down on his back he lifts his head and legs and holds them in the air
-Being on his belly
-His high chair

Likes:
-Snuggling with mom
-Bath time
-Blowing bubbles literally all day and night. Ya... he does it in the middle of the night when he wakes up to eat
-The TV
-Nursery rhymes, especially Itsy Bitsy Spider
-Getting naked and his diaper changed
-Standing up
-Getting attention in any form
-When I stroke/tickle his face when he's falling asleep

New Tricks/Skills:
-He is very good at holding things now and playing with toys
-He has found his toes
-He can sit up by himself now
-He has been eating rice cereal for the past month and does well with it. We are starting to introduce veggies and fruit in a couple of days!

We love this big, blue eyed boy! I'm so glad he is mine!
