The Life In My Shoes As A Mother

I've been wanting to share my everyday life as a mom for a while now, but I can never seem to figure out how to put what I want to say into words. So this is me giving it a shot.

I'm lucky that I get to stay at home with Ashton, although it isn't always glamorous and easy. There are times when I want to get out and be free (and alone), and there are times when I never want to let go of Ashton's snuggles. Being a mom is the most frustrating and happy job in the world.

Being a mom makes everything 10 times harder. Eating and cooking is harder, cleaning is harder, sleeping is harder, showering and using the bathroom is harder, going to the store is harder, vacations are harder, spending time with Chase is harder, and making time for myself is definitely harder. I have days where I don't change out of my sweats, leave the house, or even have time to eat anything besides a quick PBJ.

It is all worth it though, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Mothers are superheros. When I got pregnant and Chase and I decided I should be a stay at home mom, I kind of felt guilty because I was leaving everything involving money for Chase while I just sit at home. Lately, I have realized how important it is that I am home to help shape my kids to hopefully help make this scary world a little less scary. I think everyday about the future and raising my family in this world, but all I can do is be an example of the good in the world for my family.

Ashton has his moments or days when he is more needy or harder to take care of, but I'm lucky because he is a really good kid. He is such a happy, curious, smart, alert, funny, and cute little boy! I love him so much! It's not possible to truly understand your parents and what they do for you until you experience it yourself. I appreciate parenthood so much more now that I am a mom, and I'm happy that this gets to be my career. I'm a business management major, and sometimes I wonder why I even went to school if I wasn't going to use my major. I recently realized that I am managing my family and home as a wife and mom, which is the best business of all to manage.

Life is happy and hard in the shoes of a mother, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

P.S. Can you believe he was that tiny? It's depressing and wonderful all at the same time how big he's getting.
